Skittle polka dot nails!

You're such a Budapest from OPI , first timer by Essie and In the Cab-ana by Essie are my chosen base colors today. I applied a thin layer of Snow Globe by China Glaze over all of my nails before I placed my polka dots on top. Something fun for the weekend!!! 

Glistening Snow

Hello everyone! For today I brought out Glistening Snow from China Glaze Holiday Joy Collection! This color is such a winter color. Its just packed with soft silver sparkles that make my nails look so magical... Reminds me of early morning when the fresh fallen snow hit the ground, Sparkles in the sun.Two coats and you get a very nice coverage. The only downside I had with this color is the fact that it stays bumpy. The formula seems to soak up any topcoat so you need to put a few. The great thing about this color is that nothing would chip it! GREAT! I had a fun time taking it off but it was worth the struggle. What saddens me is the fact that these pictures don't do justice to the sparkly look it has. Anyway if you want a beautiful color in your collection this is a color for you!

Christmas Eve Snowflakes!

Hello everyone! so Christmas eve is tomorrow and I just had to get one more manicure in there before the festivities start. With work tomorrow as well as a drive to Ottawa I didn't see where I would be able to do my nails! so these are my holiday nails! 

I had recently asked a fellow nail blogger Anastasia Park to do a tutorial on snowflakes. You can check out her tutorial at http://mymakeupmania.blogspot.ca/2012/12/my-christmas-pedicure-freehand.html.
I tried to mimic what she has showed us to do, but unfortunately I do not have a super fine detail brush. so I was limited to my small lines. So I tried out my own version of the snowflakes. I will be trying these out again in the new year after I go for a run to the art store for a small brush! 

I would like to thank again Anastasia Park for taking her time to do her tutorial especially for me!

Party Blue!!

There's not a lot I can say about this blue except its STUNNING!! The color is from China Glaze with the name Frostbite.  There was a fundraiser at my old hairdressing school for the students to go to New York. They were doing blow-dry's and manicures and my old aesthetics teacher saved this color for me. She knows me too well. I had a blast that night. I added all my nail art the following day myself. Very party-ish nails. The silver sparkles I used reminds me of shimmering diamonds.  These were all out glamour nails!

Electrify!

Hello my friends! Well I was sitting in my living room last night painting my nails when all of a sudden the power went out! It was a tad dark so I didn't get to play around and try some Halloween nails. That made me sad, so instead I did a beautiful gold and red sparkle accent nails with my trusty black from Essie! I used Electrify from the hunger games line from China Glaze. I would like to try and do one more attempt at some Halloween nails but time is running out! Halloween is tomorrow!!!!!! Well I was glad that I could have done my friends nails a few weeks ago.  If you didn't already check them out you can go in my archives and look for Halloween nails.

White Ice

I fell in love with these sparkles when I first saw them. I previously blogged about the color before. I bought them at Sephora and are called Indi-go with the flow.  I put them on top of Alpine snow from OPI. It didnt take too long to do, but because doing white takes a few coats, it took a white to dry!

Love the look for parties! 

Liquid Crystal by China Glaze

Liquid Crystal 

OMG! This is the color I have been waiting for! I've been trying to find something that I didnt have already and here it is! This is my IT color! haha. Liquid Crystal by China Glaze. I can see this being a hit color in the cold winter, sparkling in the sunlight on a cold day. I usually go dark in the winter or very light and sparkly. Its a very festive color so guess what ill be wearing around the holidays! 

Chocolate and Gold

I really love this gold sparkle nail polish! The name is called Glow up Already from the Burlesque OPI line. In the bottle it has more of a greenish tint to it but on the nail its softer and more gold. I didn't want to just do gold sparkles on all my nails so I paired it with Get in the Expresso Lane by OPI. The brown is from the Touring America 2011 Fall collection. It was a nice weekend polish to wear.  The brown is highly pigmented, and it goes on fabulous! 

Blue Blue Blue

Blue Blue Everywhere!

I didn't quite know where I was headed with this manicure. Its the first time I actually didn't have an idea in my head for my nails. All I knew was that I wanted something with blue. So I started off my manicure with Just Groovy by OPI.

When this was Completely dry I started to add my tape strips. I did the white first and then let it dry, and then did the two blues. (Russian Navy from OPI and Splish Splash from China Glaze) I found that it looked lightly still plain even with the white and blue stripes,so I added a small line of fine silver sparkles. To finish I used one coat of Last Friday Night by OPI's Katy Perry line. 

Purple Ribbons!

Purple Ribbon Manicure

Today I did another tape manicure but its something that I haven't really tried much. I don't really know the proper name for this manicure so I named it purple ribbons! It reminds me of having small ribbons wrapped around my nails. 

I found it pretty easy to do, yet a little time consuming. Luckily I had an afternoon free before I go see Russell Peters!

The colors I used today were OPI- Honk if you love OPI, OPI- pirouette my whistle, Essie- exotic Liras and Essie- Play Date.

So I started off with my light purple base color from Essie (play date), and I waited until it was completely dry. The color itself is extremely beautiful on its own as well.

 Once they were dry I cut out small thin triangle pieces of tape and placed them spaced out but one on top of the other. Like below.

Once you have all your tape in place, you are ready to apply your ribbon colors.  I used Honk if you love OPI and Essie's Exotic Liras. Remove the tape ASAP, or else your lines wont be crisp. once everything was done and dry i covered it with Pirouette my whistle and finished with my top coat!
